METHODOLOGY
Language is not only about translation of words, but also manifests
culture and different ways of thinking. It is a wonderful tool and in itself an
art.
The Spanish Programs at CDL Spanish School follow the certified methodology of
the Cervantes Institute, Madrid. All our teachers have received extensive and
continuous training on this method.
Covering all aspects of language learning (speaking, listening, writing and
reading skills), our Spanish courses is designed specifically for foreign
students and is taught in Spanish. The Cervantes Institute Curriculum is an open
methodology, that can be and has been adapted to different social, cultural and
educational environments and the specific characters of the students. It is
student-centered taking the dialogue between student and teacher as a
fundamental basis for individualized goals, content and methodology, as well as
integrated: the different components objectives, content, methodology and
evaluation are coherently integrated simultaneously rather than
successively.
Courses are divided into nine levels: Beginner (3), intermediate (3),
advanced (2) and Superior (1). You will be given a placement test on your first
day to evaluate your level and identify your individual needs and an oral test
as well if you are taking group classes. Groups are organized in a way that they
will always consist of students possessing a similar level of Spanish. When
finalizing each level you take an exam. At the end of the course you receive a
Certificate stating your achieved level of Spanish.
The classes are held in our in-door classrooms, as well as in our large lush
out-door courtyard. Additionally, there is a video and meeting room for
extracurricular activities.
Class hours are 55 minutes and scheduled from Monday to Friday, typically in
morning session between 8:00-12:00 or afternoon session 14:00-18:00. Each
session is divided into two blocks with a 20 minute break in between. The first
block is mainly dedicated to grammar and vocabulary, while the second block is
spent practicing what you learned in the first block through conversation and
exercises. You switch teachers between the first and second block. This is so
that you get to hear different accents and ways of speaking which will help you
advance faster in your own pronunciation, and also to get more interesting
dynamics while learning.
We offer you a wide variety of programs at CDL Spanish School, all with very
high standards and including the study materials. Do not hesitate to contact us
if you need advice on which program would suit you best or how many hours per
day would be appropriate for you. You can start classes in any program any
Monday, all through out the year.
